Dear Members of New York DeMolay:
One of the things that I love about DeMolay are the incredible people that we have working to mentor our youth. These men and women are truly leaders of leaders.
In addition to DeMolay, many of them have taken on leadership positions in other organizations. Among them is Honorary Supreme Council Member “Dad” Mark Heitmann in his role as the Right Worthy Associate Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In this critical role, “Dad” Heitmann is providing the same great leadership and guidance he has provided to us to Eastern Star. He also plays a critical role in the leadership of the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, and in preparing for even bigger responsibilities next year. There are only 24 hours in a day. In talking with “Dad” Heitmann he has indicated his desire to step away from serving as Rivers Region Governor as he prepares for and assumes these critical leadership and executive roles within Eastern Star.
I want to thank him for his unwavering support for DeMolay, his kindness, and his mentorship.I have asked that he stay on the State Advisory Council as a Senior Advisor to the Executive Officer. I could write for hours about all of “Dad” Heitmann’s accomplishments and dedication.
In consultation with “Dad” Heitmann, we asked Honorary Supreme Council Member “Dad” Mark Alvarado to assume the role of Rivers Region Governor. “Dad” Alvarado has a long standing history of leadership and service to DeMolay from his days as an Active DeMolay in Ohio, working with Mohawk Valley, serving as State Chapter Advisor, and being there doing big and small things. I am very grateful that he said yes.
For Rivers Region Advisory Councils, please be on the look out for communication from “Dad” Alvarado and information on your Regional Social Event.
Your brother,
“Dad” Brusoe
