Sweetheart Applications Are Now Open!

NY DeMolay is proud to announce that applications for sweethearts are now open!

DeMolay firmly believes in the importance of family, education and vocational training/skills building.

Young women who apply to serve in a Sweetheart role may also be leaders in other groups. NY DeMolay honors fidelity and it is important that those who take on roles in multiple organizations prioritize their obligations accordingly. It is our expectation that you will honor the commitments you make to other organizations. (ie: FBLA, FFA, BETA, Rainbow, Triangle, etc).   

Eligibility to run for the Sweetheart Leadership Team:
A young woman must be under the age of 21 on August 18, 2024
A young woman must have served as a Chapter Sweetheart, Sweetheart Council or in an equivalent leadership role in another youth serving organization.
Eligibility to run for State Sweetheart:
A young woman must be under the age of 21 on August 18, 2024
A young woman must have served or is currently serving as a Council Sweetheart or in an equivalent leadership role in another youth serving organization.

Examples of youth organizations: Key Club, Band, Scouts, Y Guides, class officer, Interact, Young Life, Rainbow, Triangle, Job’s Daughters, Leo, FFA, FBLA, etc.
New York DeMolay promotes youth leadership and development and offers the opportunity for young women to refine and develop leadership skills by serving in a Sweetheart Leadership Role

This is a multiple step process.
1) Those seeking to run should apply using this electronic form after discussing this with their local DeMolay advisory council and parents or guardians.  This form is due no later than July 1, 2024

2) After completing the electronic form, the State Sweetheart Advisor or their designee will contact the advisory council to confirm their support for the application.

3) The State Sweetheart Advisor and Executive Officer  will meet virtually with the parents and guardians of the applicant to discuss the program and their support of their daughter’s application.
