Thomas Tatu

Lakes Region Master Councilor

Br. Thomas Tatu was elected Lakes Region Master Councilor on August 23rd 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention. He joined Tuscarora Chapter Chapter on November 8, 2022. He joined DeMolay because his friend told him about the fun and excitement. Br. Tatu has served in several offices in DeMolay, including Master Councilor of Tuscarora Chapter Br. Tatu has been honored with the Lamp of Knowledge, The Representative DeMolay. Br. Tatu is a 2 time alumnus of the DeMolay KeyMan Conference.

Jordan Dais

Metropolitan Region Master Councilor

Br. Jordan Dais was elected Metropolitan Region Master Councilor on August 23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention. He joined Knickerbocker Chapter Chapter on December 19, 2019. He joined DeMolay because his father and uncle were active members in their youth. Br. Dais has served in several offices in DeMolay, including Master Councilor of Knickerbocker Chapter Br. Dais has been honored with the Lamp of Knowledge and The Representative DeMolay.

George Melis

State Junior Councilor

Br. George Melis was elected State Senior Councilor on August 23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention. He joined Knickerbocker Chapter Chapter on December 19, 2021. He joined DeMolay because of his commitment to service and dedication. Br. Melis has served in several offices in DeMolay, including Master Councilor of Knights Templar Chapter Br. Melis has been honored with the Lamp of Knowledge and The Representative DeMolay.

Joseph Newton

State Master Councilor

Br. Joseph Newton was elected State Master Councilor on on August  23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention.  He joined Meridian Sun Chapter on March 21, 2016.  He joined DeMolay because of the fun and fellowship he saw and his family’s positive experience in Freemasonry.  Br. Newton served as Lakes Region Master Councilor from 2022-2023. Br. Newton has served in several offices in DeMolay, including Master Councilor of Meridian Sun Chapter and the founding Master Councilor of Chadwick Bay Chapter.   Br. Newton has been honored with the Lamp of Knowledge, The Representative DeMolay, and in 2022 was elected to receive the Degree of Chevalier and 2023 the York Rite Tribune. Br. Newton is attending the State University of New York at Fredonia studying music.

Tristan A. Schulbaum

Deputy State Master Councilor

Br. Tristan Schulbaum was elected Deputy State Master Councilor on August  23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention.  Br. Tristan’s DeMolay career started in 2020 when he joined the Order of Squires. He went on to join New York DeMolay and affiliated with The Knights of Antiquity, where he has served three terms as Master Councilor. Br. Tristan has competed at the Mid-Atlantic Tournament of Champions many times, winning first place in multiple categories. Br. Tristan is an avid Dek Hockey player and cellist. He holds the Representative DeMolay, Lamp of Knowledge, Past Master Councilor’s Meritorious Service Award, Founder’s Membership Award, and a number one pin. In early 2023, he was a Representative DeMolay of the Year Finalist. He is currently in high school.

Joseph Ferraro

State Senior Councilor

Br. Joseph Ferraro was elected State Senior Councilor on August 23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention Br. Ferraro joined Meridian Sun Chapter on April 12, 2021. He would later go on to become the first Master Councilor of the re-instituted Tuscarora Chapter. He attended the 2023 and 2024 KeyMan conference on behalf of New York DeMolay. He holds the Representative DeMolay, Lamp of Knowledge, Past Master Councilor’s Meritorious Service Award, Founder’s Membership Award, Zerubbabel Key and a number one pin. He is currently in high school.

James Hess

State Scribe

Br. James R. Hess was elected Rivers Region Master Councilor on August  23rd, 2024 at the 57th Annual New York DeMolay Convention. He joined Mohawk Valley Chapter on April 17, 2019. He joined DeMolay because of his family’s multi-generational Masonic Experience and because his father is a proud Senior DeMolay. Br. James shares, “I sought the opportunity to carry on the family legacy and enjoy the benefits of what DeMolay has to offer.” Brother Hess has served as Master Councilor of Mohawk Valley Chapter and NY State Scribe. Brother Hess has earned the Representative DeMolay Award, the Lamp of Knowledge, the Distinguished Service Award and had earned a Number One pin for bringing in new members.  Currently he is employed in the healthcare industry.
