The past several years our use of\nthe Masonic Home Camp revolved around the Camp Turk program. We also wanted a\ndate that would not conflict with KeyMan or Region 1 LTC. The cost of convention also\ndepended on which weekend we used. \nWhy are we not using the Masonic Home Camp?\nThe Masonic Home Camp is booked for a paid wedding requiring the use of the chapel\nand 100 sleeping beds. The Masonic Home Camp is not big enough to accommodate\nboth events. The only other weekends conflicted with Regents Exams or Labor Day. \nWhat was the process used to select the location?\nThe State Executive Committee took a look at hotels\, conference centers\, college\ncampuses and reviewed about a dozen bids. Site visits were made and pros and cons\nwere weighed. \nAre there opportunities to earn financial assistance?\nYes! Youth leaders can sell ads for the 2025 Convention Program and Ad Journal. Discount commissions will be applied to your balance. \nHow many ads would it take to go to convention for free?\nIt depends. If you opt for the 4 to a room\, four day convention package and you sell 4\n$100 page ads\, your cost is fully covered.\n1st $100 Ad = $30 off ($150 balance)\n2nd $100 Ad = $40 off ($110 balance)\n3rd $100 Ad = $50 off ($60 balance)\n4th $100 Ad = $60 off ($0 balance) \nIf you sell 2 half black and white ads\, one color ad\, and 1 B/W ad:\n1st $60 Ad = $18 off ($162 balance)\n2nd $60 Ad = $24 off ($138 balance)\n3rd $100 Ad = $50 off ($88 balance)\n4th $150 Ad = $90 off ($0 balance) \nCommission rules:\n1. The name of the seller is the person earning the credit for the ad sale.\n2. We will count the highest percentage to the highest value ad sold.\n3. The commission can be used to pay for the costs of Convention\n4. All ads must be in keeping with the spirit of DeMolay.\n5. Cover sales costs may be shared across a chapter at 75%
